Founded in 1963 by 15 inhabitants of Villafranca de los Barros, it currently has 1.100 members. The premises of the Cooperative cover 20,000 m2, with a total capacity for processing 40 million kilograms of grapes each year and an approximate annual turnover of 12,048,129.77 € (approximately 2,000 millions pesetas).

The San José Extremaduran agricultural and wine producing cooperative, situated right on "La RUTA DE LA PLATA" ("The SILVER Route"), still uses traditional methods in its wine production.

    The vineyards, situated in the Tierra de Barros region, on the gentle rolling reddish-brown slopes, sometimes associated with olive groves, give the landscape a very unique touch.

    Our priority is to offer wines of the highest quality, hence we make every effort to do so by combining both traditional methods and the most advanced technology.
